PALISADES, NEW YORK, US, October 1, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- C.D. Peterson who grew up on a Massachusetts farm during the second world war wrote of his experience as a farm boy during that war in his new book "Home Front. A Memoir From WWII."

Coming of age in the 1940s and early 50s, the author is among the last ones who personally experienced the scarcity of the depression, the patriotism during World War II and the exuberance in that brief, post-war period when citizens felt safe and when the middle class was born. His memory goes back to Dec. 7, 1941 when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and the home front literally began. His book, "Home Front" in a very real way begins that day too.

As he wrote the book, Peterson reached out and connected with others of the same generation with his website http://www.homefrontmemoir.com and received a substantial response from men and women whose childhoods paralleled his. They sent the author vignettes of their youthful experiences; he included thirty seven of those voices from the past in his book.

"Home Front: A Memoir From World War II" was published by History Publishing Company in July, 2018 and garnered immediate attention from seven vendors and Amazon's eleven international outlets. In addition to Amazon, Barnes and Noble.KOBO,Google Play Store,24 Signal and Thalia became home to "Home Front."

"C.D. Peterson has opened the window to an important part of the past that allows the seniors among us to relive part of their youth and the young to see a little known part of American history," says Publisher Donagh Bracken. "Every library should have a copy of C.D. Peterson's fascinating book."

Married for more than 50 years, C.D.Peterson is the proud father of three children. Raised on his family’s dairy farm, he is an MIT graduate, a former Navy pilot, and a dedicated fly fisherman. He has written five books on business subjects and a full scale history. His work includes pieces about fly fishing, a published poem and an award winning song. His essays have been published in several newspapers.
