Angola and Uruguay recognise progress in co-operation

Luanda, ANGOLA, February 20 - Angola and Uruguay recognised last Tuesday that there has been a progress in the bilateral relation and pledged to strengthen it having into account the values of democracy, liberty and rule of law.,

This recognition comes on a joint press note released in Luanda, in the third day of the visit to Angola of Uruguay’s Foreign Affairs minister, Rodolfo Nin Novoa.

 

On the document, the two parties highlight the common diplomatic initiatives for peace maintenance and regional stability, promotion of economic integration and development of the African continent and Latin America.  

 

Thus, they expressed satisfaction for the joint work experience at the United Nations Security Council when both countries were non-permanent members of the Council in 2015 to 2016.

 

The Uruguayan diplomat hailed the efforts being made by the Angolan government towards creating conditions for a more attractive business environment, which is intended to contribute to a better mobilisation of foreign investment for Angola.

 

Rodolfo Nin Novoa invited the Angolan Foreign minister, Manuel Augusto, to visit Uruguay, to which the Angolan diplomat acquiesced, although a date is still to be agreed upon.  

 

Angola and Uruguay have diplomatic relations since 26 March 1988.

 

The Uruguayan diplomat is due back to his country this Wednesday.
