Peruvian Connection Opens Aspen Retail Location

Luxury Clothing Brand a Fit for Aspen Locals and International Travelers

TONGANOXIE, Kan., Nov. 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Peruvian Connection, a luxury clothing brand famous for its original, artisan-made designs using the highest quality Andean fibers, announces the opening of a new retail store in Aspen, Colorado. The doors open on Thursday, November 15, 2018, with a grand opening celebration to take place on December 6, 2018.

The store is located at 205 South Mill Street in Aspen and sits right on the corner of South Mill and East Hopkins. The 1,400 square foot space is in a prime location in the heart of downtown Aspen, one block from the historic Hotel Jerome, and shoppers will be delighted by window displays along Mill and Hopkins streets. It is the first new retail location for Peruvian Connection in three years, but a space that has been a long time in the making.

“I’ve been collecting antique furniture and fixtures for this space long before we had a physical address,” said Annie Hurlbut, founder of Peruvian Connection. “It has been a dream of mine to open a store in Aspen for years. It’s this special place where both international travelers and those that live in the area full-time will appreciate the luxury and affordability of our artisan-made designs.”

Like all Peruvian Connection stores, the Aspen location will feature relics from Peru and many antique pieces, including an Art-Deco era chandelier. Founder, Annie Hurlbut, personally curated the antiques and designed the store to reflect her love of global art and culture.

Peruvian Connection will celebrate the opening of the newest location with an invite-only grand opening celebration on December 6, 2018. The grand opening event will be a fundraiser for the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet. Peruvian Connection also has a retail store in Santa Fe and the partnership was a natural fit.

“Peruvian Connection is a physical display of art as fashion,” said Jean-Philippe Malaty, Executive Director of the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet. “The Aspen community is extremely excited to welcome them and we are honored they chose the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet as a partner.”

The Aspen location opens just in time for the busy ski and holiday seasons and Peruvian Connection looks forward to being part of the community for many years to come.

Other Peruvian Connection store locations include: New York, London, Chicago, Santa Fe, Boston, Washington D.C., and Kansas City.

About Peruvian Connection
Peruvian Connection was founded in 1976 by Annie Hurlbut and her mother, Biddy. An anthropologist by trade, Annie was fascinated by the extraordinary hand-woven pieces she found in the markets while studying in the Andes. After giving her mother a luxurious Peruvian alpaca sweater coat trimmed with long-haired alpaca fur, friends and family wanted to purchase the design as well. They started importing a few sweaters, then created a catalog and more than 40 years later Peruvian Connection’s collections are available in the brand’s retail stores, online and by catalog.

Today, each piece is created by an extraordinary group of designers, then made by artisans in Peru from Andean luxury fibers, including the finest alpaca and pima cotton. Peruvian Connection releases five internationally renowned collections each year. For more information please visit PeruvianConnection.com.
