Zaire: 26 expelled over illegal stay

Mbanza Kongo, ANGOLA, November 12 - At least 26 citizens from Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have been repatriated over migration irregularities in the last seven days, announced Migration and Foreigners Department (SME) in northern Zaire province. ,

 

Sixteen left through the Luvo border checkpoint (60 km north of the province's capital), six through the land border of Nóqui and four by the river crossing point of the Kimbumba (municipality of Soyo).

 

The document reached Angop Monday confirms the refusal to allow 33 citizens of DRC to enter the national territory due to lack of valid travel documents and means of subsistence.

 

Also 338 crossing permits for national citizens, who traveled to the DRC for various reasons, have been issued.

 

As for migratory movement, the source mentioned the coming of 280 national citizens from neighbouring country and departure of the 400 others.

 

On the other hand, the document quoted 71 foreigners from DRC as having entered officially the country and departure of 35 others.

 

Four municipalities of Zaire province share the border with Central Congo (DRC).

They are Mbanza Kongo, Soyo, Cuimba and Nóqui.
