Construction of Gazprom’s 20th CNG filling station initiated in Tatarstan

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, took place today at the 8th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
The parties addressed the ongoing cooperation, noting that due to their joint efforts the gas penetration rate in Tatarstan was among the highest across Russia at 99.5 per cent versus the national average of 68.1 per cent.
Special attention was paid to Gazprom’s NGV infrastructure development in Tatarstan. At present, there are 19 CNG filling stations in operation across the region, with sales of gas as a vehicle fuel growing from 14.1 million to 28.6 million cubic meters between 2015 and 2017 and reaching already 15.8 million cubic meters in the first half of 2018.
In September, Gazprom finalized design works and started building a new CNG station in Almetyevsk. In addition, the Company plans to construct such stations in Nurlat and Zainsk, as well as to retrofit a station in Buinsk.

The 8th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum is being held as part of the Russian Energy Week International Forum.
Gazprom and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan are bound by the Agreements on cooperation, scientific & technical partnership and wider use of natural gas as a vehicle fuel, as well as the Memorandum on joint efforts in establishing and supporting an industry-specific educational center in the region.
In September 2018, Gazprom, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation signed the Roadmap aimed at enhancing the cooperation between Gazprom and Tatarstan’s industrial companies from 2018 to 2023.
