President discusses cooperation with North Korean ambassador

Luanda, ANGOLA, August 9 - Angolan head of State João Lourenço Thursday in Luanda analysed political, economic and diplomatic cooperation with the ambassador of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Kim Hyon IL. ,

 

This was during an audience meant to bid farewell to the Statesman at the end of North Korean diplomat’s almost four-year term in Angola.

 

Kim Hyon IL did not speak to the press at the end of the meeting.

 

Relations between the two countries date back to Angola's independence on November 11, 1975, when both countries embarked on cooperation based on the fields of health, construction and technological information.

 

In May 1977 the parties signed a General Agreement on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, during an official visit by the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, to the Asian country.
