New sights, new culture and the chance to make new writing friends, direct 1-2-1 coaching, focused workshops and a live-action murder mystery...

GRIMSBY, N.E. LINCS, UNITED KINGDOM, June 21, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Are you feeling uninspired and need your writing mojo back? A trip to the continent may well be just what you need to refresh your little grey cells!

New sights, new culture and the chance to make new writing friends, direct 1-2-1 coaching, focussed workshops and a live-action murder mystery are all on offer through Red Herring Games this October as part of their Writers Retreat mini-cruise.

This is the third writers retreat run as a partnership between The Writing Hall and Red Herring Games. The last two retreats have been based in a UK hotel.

“We wanted to do something different this year” Jo Smedley, the managing director of Red Herring Games said. “Sometimes what you need as a writer is new experiences, and while a retreat to a UK hotel is great, being surrounded by a different culture can be incredibly inspiring.”

The retreat has only been running two years but attendees of previous weekends have gone on to have a novel published or their plays produced, which just goes to show how valuable the retreat can be.

“Everyone has a different writing style and is working on a different project” said Diane Hall of The Writing Hall. “Many writers’ courses offer a one-size-fits-all approach, and while we do have group workshops we also like to provide 1-2-1 coaching and feedback, which is invaluable for writers.”

The retreats attract many returning guests and places are always limited and available on a first come first serve basis. So it’s worth booking early to avoid disappointment.

“There are tutorials and workshops planned at different points during the weekend, and on Saturday during the day they’ll be free to explore Amsterdam or Rotterdam” Jo Smedley said. “We also have some fun planned too – with the writers taking part in a live-action murder mystery during the evenings.”

This year is the first time the retreat will take place during a mini-cruise, but Jo Smedley says if it works as well as they hope, next year could be a trip to Bruge.

If you’ve always wondered if you could turn your hand to writing and would like to grab your place on the writers retreat you can book directly through Eventbrite or call Red Herring Games today on 01472 348909.
