Congo president's special envoy leaves Angola

Luanda, ANGOLA, April 11 - The Foreign Affairs minister of Republic of Congo Jean Claude Gakosso left the country's capital (Luanda) on Wednesday after delivering a message to the head of State, João Lourenço, following 24-hour visit to Angola. ,

 

The message was handed over during an audience the Angolan president granted to the special envoy of Congo.

 

The Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso invited his Angolan counterpart to attend the summit on protection of the Congo River basin, scheduled for 25th this month in Brazzaville.

 

At the end of the audience, Jean Gakosso said that the international summit is the result of an initiative to protect the fauna and flora of the countries that share the Congo River basin.

 

With 4,700 kilometer extension, Congo River, also known as Zaire River, is the second largest river in Africa

 

Both countries enjoy relations of cooperation, with stress to political-diplomatic sectors, transport, oil, trade, tourism, environment.

 

Angola and Republic of Congo are member countries, in framework of the international and regional institutions.

 

Jean Claude Gakosso, at the head of his country's delegation, was seen off at Luanda International Airport by senior officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic representation of his country.
