Angolans face difficulties to obtain documents in Ponta-Negra

Cabinda, ANGOLA, November 24 - About 18,000 Angolans living in the regions of Kouilou and Ponta Negra in the Republic of Congo face difficulties in renewing their Resident Identification Document, a registration that allows the processing of the National Identity Card and consequently the passport.,

In this condition are Angolan citizens who in the last 30/20 years arrived in Congo as refugees, a situation that the Angolan consular authorities in the two regions (Kouilou and Ponta-Negra) promise to solve.

"It is a commitment of the consulate to make new registrations and to control our fellow citizens," said the vice-consul, Manuel Resende de Assunção, while speaking to Angop.

In order to solve this matter, it is considered fundamental the intervention of the Civil Registry and Identification service, as well as the Ministry of Social Reinsertion.

Many Angolans living in Kouilou and Ponta-Negra are eager to return to the country, the diplomat said.
