Social media companies shouldn’t censor Trump, other pols: Zuckerberg

Social media platforms should not censor President Trump and other politicians, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said.

“My belief is that in a democracy, I don’t think that we want private companies censoring politicians in the news,” Zuckerberg said in an interview with Fox News reporter Dana Perino set to air on Friday.

Zuckerberg was responding to a question about Sen. Kamala Harris’ call for Twitter to suspend Trump’s account.

He added that he believes people should decide what politicians are “credible” on their own — and that it’s not something social media companies should be deciding.

“I don’t think that should be something that we want tech companies or any kind of company doing,” he said.

Zuckerberg also discussed allegations of anti-conservative media bias in the interview, which will air Friday at 2 p.m., Fox reported.
