Hyderabad: 17-year-old tries to damage national flag, held by cops

HYDERABAD: At a time when solidarity rallies are being taken up to mourn the loss of the 40 CRPF personnel who were martyred in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, locals caught an 17-year-old attempting to tear the Indian flag near Necklace Road on Saturday. On seeing the incident, lake police constables who were nearby rushed to the spot and took the teen into custody.
“The boy looked in a drowsy condition while he was being questioned and gave inconsistent answers about his personal details.It seems from last three months he was undergoing treatment for a psychiatric disorder,’’said lake police inspector B Dhana lakshmi. The minor is a resident of Khairathabad.
