Police: Indiana woman reported husband's death days after killing him

Sheila Ridenour, 55, was arrested Monday on charges of murder and failing to report a dead body, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

An Indiana woman who called 911 to report that she'd killed her husband, several days after it happened, was arrested Monday on a murder charge, authorities said.

Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a deceased male at a home in Crawfordsville just before 3:30 a.m. They found Billy Ridenour, 62, dead in the residence, the office said in a news release.

The caller had told a dispatcher she shot her husband on Friday, the release said. Deputies took the woman, Sheila Ridenour, 55, into custody, authorities said.

After an interview with police, she was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on charges of murder and failure to report a dead body, the release said.

Additional details on the victim's death weren't immediately available. Deputies say the case remains under investigation.
