76ers forward acts fast after dad’s racist Jimmy Butler tweets

Another day, another social media squabble for the 76ers.

On Saturday, Philadelphia’s general manager, Elton Brand, released a statement that chastised the “unacceptable” remarks made online by the father of forward Mike Muscala.

“I was made aware of inappropriate and offensive social media posts from Bob Muscala, father of Mike Muscala. Simply put, they are unacceptable and in no way reflective of the beliefs of our organization,” he said in a message on Twitter.

The elder Muscala is said to have taken aim at Jimmy Butler of the Minnesota Timberwolves, allegedly writing under the @MuskieBobber Twitter handle, “Butler behavior not a ‘dust up.’ This is egomaniacal, African American mental illness,” according to USA Today.

Muscala, a former Bucknell star, also apologized for his father’s commentary.

“His comments were uncalled for and inappropriate, and they do not reflect who I am,” Muscala stated. “I’d also like to apologize to the 76ers and my colleagues across the NBA for the distraction my father’s comments caused.”

Muscala’s father is also said to have penned additional tweets about Butler, who wants out of Minnesota after feuding with the team’s young stars, Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.

On Wednesday, the Timberwolves’ guard reportedly exploded on the team’s general manager at practice, screaming, “You f–king need me.”
