Each week, the Daily Post pulls together its files to name and shame the criminals locked up for offences committed in and around North Wales.
Every one of the people named here has appeared in court.
In some of the cases, trials have been held and jurors have deliberated over the evidence.
A judge has decided their crimes are so serious that only a custodial sentence will suffice.
Adrian Perkins
A former soldier high on a cocktail of drink and drugs tried to rob a convenience store at knife-point.
Adrian Perkins bought some chocolate buttons then demanded cash from the till but was foiled by the store assistant.
Perkins - said to have been badly affected by his experiences on tour in Iraq - later made a bomb hoax call to Flintshire Council.
Mold Crown Court heard he then threatened to kill his family after his father refused to give him money so that he could skip bail and flee abroad.
Perkins, 29, of Alyn Road in Buckley - said to have “cleared his head” following his remand into custody - was jailed for a total of four years and nine months.
The defendant attempted to rob assistant Angela Ellis at the Spar store in Buckley on March 31.
Timothy Mark Williams
A man who admitted sexually abusing three girls has been locked up for 12 years.
Timothy Mark Williams, of Ffordd Cwstenin, Mochdre, Colwyn Bay, was said by the judge to have groomed the girls for his “own selfish, lustful needs”.
The 54-year-old was told he will not be released on licence until the parole board believe he poses no risk to the public. The judge also ordered the licence period be extended by a further six years.
Williams showed no emotion as he was led away at Caernarfon Crown Court to start his sentence.
Sentencing, Judge Huw Rees said: “Your offending involved no less than three complainants over a nine-year period.
“You groomed them for your own selfish, lustful needs.”
Robert Acton
A man launched a “cowardly” unprovoked attack on a work colleague, leaving him with a broken leg.
Robert Acton, 50, punched, kicked and stamped on Keith Owen after becoming obsessed with the idea that he had in some way been bullied at work.
Judge Niclas Parry told Acton, of the Peulwys Estate in Old Colwyn, that the attack in January was “cowardly and utterly irrational”.
He struck his Iceland co-worker from behind which was totally unexpected and caused Mr Owen to fall to the floor where he was punched then kicked to the head.
“You then jumped on his leg and you broke it,” Judge Parry told him.
Acton shouted and threatened to kill Mr Owen, but somehow the victim managed to get to his feet.
But he was struck again which caused him to fall to the ground where he was struck for a third time.
Acton was jailed for 27 months at Mold Crown Court, where he had admitted a GBH charge.
Thomas Nathan Edwards
A drug dealer who tried to break his mobile phone and swallow part of it to prevent police from seizing it has been jailed for four and a half years.
Thomas Nathan Edwards admitted being in possession of illegal drugs with intent to supply when he appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court .
The 23-year-old, of Heol Hafod in Johnstown near Wrexham, had denied the charge and was due to stand trial, but changed his plea moments before a jury was chosen.
Edwards also admitted having £713 in cash - deemed to be criminal property - at his home when it was searched by police in August last year.
Adam Matthews
A man was left with life-changing injuries after being punched in the face as he stood with his hands in his pockets, a court heard.
Victim Thomas Fortune from the Rhyl area suffered a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain which had affected his memory and concentration.
The attacker, café owner Adam Matthews, 35, admitted a GBH charge and was jailed for 22 months at Mold Crown Court.
Matthews, of Ffordd Parc Castell in Bodelwyddan , who runs a café in Rhyl, was told his victim could have died.
Prosecutor David Mainstone said there had been a verbal exchange at The Bodfor public house in Rhyl and the complainant left.
But he was followed and as he stood with his hands in his pocket he was punched to the face.
Daniel Edward Donaghue
A man who threatened to cut off a teenager’s head with a pair of scissors has been locked up.
Daniel Edward Donaghue approached the youth in the high street in Bangor and demanded £20 from him.
When he refused, the 28-year-old, from Maes Hyfryd in Garndolbenmaen near Porthmadog, went into a nearby shop before approaching him again and producing a pair of scissors.
He told the youth: “I’m going to kill you.”
Donaghue admitted possessing a bladed article in public and threatening a person with it and was jailed for 16 months.
Philip Sion Blakemore
A “road rage” driver threw the contents of a can of alcohol over a female motorist after she confronted him for clipping the side of her car.
Philip Sion Blakemore’s own barrister said the 22-year-old, of Llangybi near Pwllheli, was capable of “acts of extreme stupidity” when under the influence of alcohol.
Elen Owen, prosecuting, told Caernarfon Crown Court that, on March 9 this year, Blakemore was driving a Vauxhall Corsa near Penygroes, Gwynedd, and overtook another car clipping its nearside and damaging it.
“The female driver of the Daihatsu followed the Corsa to Penygroes and when he stopped outside a house got out and challenged him," she said.
“The defendant got out of the car holding a can of alcohol and was abusive to the woman, pushing her away and throwing the contents of the can into her face and hair.
“She then reversed her vehicle to block him in but he drove into it and pushed it out of the way before driving away.”
On a separate charge, Ms Owen said that, shortly after midnight on November 29 last year, Blakemore had forced his way into his cousin's home in Chwilog and had gone to his bedroom where he was asleep.
In addition to a four year jail term, Blakemore was banned from driving for 18 months and must take an extended test before applying for another driving licence.
Christopher Griffiths
A convicted child rapist who wanted to start a new life changed his name and got himself a new passport.
Christopher Griffiths, previously known as Christopher Davies, got a new partner and they went on holiday abroad together.
But the 43-year-old was jailed at Mold Crown Court after he admitted seven counts of breaching the requirements of the sex offender register.
Jailing him for eight months, Judge Rhys Rowlands said he accepted it had not been done with a view to committing any new offences, but because of his desire to start a new life.
However, it was serious because he was on the sex offenders register for life.
Griffiths, of Vaughan Way in Connah’s Quay, was jailed for nine years at Caernarfon Crown Court in January 2007 for the rape of a child and making a false statement to obtain a passport.
