MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS, Wyo.- For the second time in less than a week, another Yellowstone Park visitor was attacked by an elk.

This latest encounter is similar to the one last Thursday, where a bull elk charged a man and knocked him to the ground.

In this video, now making the rounds on social media, a pair of tourists are suddenly rushed by an elk and barely escaped.

In the distance, other park visitors scramble for safety near the Mammoth Restaurant in Mammoth Hot Spring, Wyo.

Park officials say the Mammorth area sees its fair share of elk encounters.

“You know I think we have a larger resident group of elk that lives around Mammoth Hot Springs year round. Combined with Mammoth being a pretty popular destination, so those two things add up for more opportunities for people to get too close,” said Neal Herbert, a park spokesperson.
