Route 77, or Ocean Street, in South Portland is closed leading into Cape Elizabeth, according to police.Police said the road is closed due to a major water main break.Officials said the water was washing away part of the road.Fifteen customers lost water service, Michelle Clements, of the Portland Water District, said.Service was expected to be restored around 1 p.m. Thursday, she said. Road repairs were expected to last through Thursday evening.Drivers are urged to find alternate routes and to expect major delays during the evening commute.
