Suspect arrested in Ventura elder care burglary case

Ventura police arrested a man suspected of burglarizing an elder care facility early Wednesday, authorities said.

The incident was reported at 8 a.m. in the garage area of the Victoria Care Center, 5445 Everglades St.

Police arrived and obtained security footage from the facility. Upon viewing the footage, investigators identified the suspect involved in the burglary as Brandon Beechum, 31, of Ventura, according to authorities.

Officers found Beechum later that day in possession of stolen property as well as burglary tools, according to police. The stolen property was later returned to the facility, authorities said.

Beechum was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of burglary tools and taken to county jail, according to authorities.
