A meat and dairy complex with a production capacity of 100 tons of milk and 100 tons of meat per year was built by private entrepreneurs in the Murgap etrap (district) of the Mary velayat (region) of Turkmenistan, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan stated.
The complex keeps 750 cattle, including 150 cows of Holstein breed imported from Iran, known for its record yields.
Two hundred and fifty hectares of agricultural land, where clover, barley, corn and other crops are grown, have been assigned to the complex.
Entrepreneurs plan to double the number of cows of dairy and meat breeds, as well as to open shops for processing the products. In addition, the region has put into operation a poultry complex with a capacity of 5 million eggs and 500 tons of chicken meat per year.
The contract work has been fulfilled by the individual enterprise "Sähra gurluşyk". There are five aviaries on the territory of the enterprise, where 132,000 individuals of birds can be kept at the same time. The monthly capacity of the forage production shop is 3,000 tons.
