TOPEKA, Kan. — Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach’s quest to discover voter fraud exposed sensitive data for nearly 1,000 Kansans when an official tried to compare partial Social Security numbers sent via an unsecured email to election staff in Florida. UPCOMING: 350 words.

UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS-JET

TOPEKA, Kan. — A group of faculty, staff and students at the University of Kansas is urging the administration to sell its private jet, a move it says could generate up to $6.6 million immediately and save the university more than $1 million a year in operating costs. UPCOMING: 300 words

TOPEKA, Kan. — Legislation has been introduced to limit Kansas municipal government and school board members from resigning from office fully aware their peers would quickly reappoint them to a different vacancy on the governing body to artificially extend their terms. UPCOMING: 300 words.

— MILITARY SCHOOL-ASSAULT — Authorities have filed criminal charges against two former students related to last week’s sexual assault in a dorm room at St. John’s Military School.

— KANSAS-SECRETARY OF STATE — A former Uber and Google executive is running for the Democratic nomination for Kansas secretary of state.

— WINTER STORM-KANSAS — Several roads, including parts of Interstate 70, are closed in northwest Kansas as snow and strong winds blanket the region.

— PREGNANT TEEN KILLED-CLEMENCY — The family of a 14-year-old Wichita girl who was nine months pregnant when she was killed says a man who was paid to help has applied for clemency.

— POLICE SHOOTING-OVERLAND PARK — Authorities say an officer has shot and killed a suburban Kansas City teenager while responding to a report of a suicidal person.

BKC–T25–OKLAHOMA-REBOUND

NORMAN, Okla. — Freshman guard Trae Young had led Oklahoma all the way up to No. 4 in the AP poll before the Sooners dropped games to unranked Kansas State and Oklahoma State. Now, Oklahoma needs a win, and Kansas comes to visit on Tuesday.
