2 children pulled out of ocean by surfer at Jacksonville Beach

Both children taken to hospital in stable condition, Ocean Rescue says

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Two children were pulled out of the ocean by a surfer early Tuesday evening, according to Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue. 

Lt. Max Ervanian, Ocean Rescue public information officer, said lifeguards responded to two possible drownings at Eighth Avenue North.

When Ocean Rescue arrived, Ervanian said, the two children had already been pulled out of the water by a surfer. 

Ervanian said Ocean Rescue provided emergency care and both patients were transported to a hospital by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department in stable condition. 

The ages of the children are unknown at this time.
