CULLMAN, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a 12-year-old Alabama boy has been killed in a boating crash in Cullman County during the busy Memorial Day weekend.
News outlets report the crash happened Saturday evening on Smith Lake. Capt. Gary Buchanan of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Marine Patrol says the boat was pulling three juveniles in inner tubes when it crashed. No other vehicles were involved.
The name of the boy who died was not immediately released.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the crash. Buchanan said authorities were still investigating and did not release further details.
