Authorities said on Aug. 12, 2023, around 11 p.m., marine patrol units got a call for a boating crash in Wolfeboro. When they got there, they found a 50-foot SeaRay boat that ended up on the rocks in Winter Harbor after crashing into a dock and a boat tied to the dock.

A man operating the SeaRay left the scene before police arrived, authorities said. The operator and several passengers were on board and retrieved and left the scene in another boat, which authorities said Macheras was operating.
Witnesses said the boat the man was operating removed the occupants of the SeaRay from the scene and headed towards Tuftonboro where it was later found docked at a home.
The man is scheduled to appear in court on June 4.
