Woman lets suspended driver use her car: Richmond Heights Police Blotter

Failure to comply: Highland Road

While conducting speed enforcement in a school zone April 19, officers clocked a vehicle speeding at 37 mph.

They attempted to stop it near the police station, but it fled eastbound and pursuit was not given.

The driver, a 19-year-old Euclid man, was identified and later charged for fleeing and driving under suspension.

The registered owner of the vehicle, a 36-year-old resident, was charged with wrongful entrustment. She had allowed the man to drive the vehicle knowing he had a suspended license.

Disturbance: Chestnut Lane

Officers responded at 2:13 p.m. April 21 to a report of a man and woman arguing in a car in the Dorchester Village parking lot.

They discovered that the man had an active felony warrant with the county.

The man, 27, was arrested and taken to the county jail. The woman was allowed to leave the area.

Suspicion: Ruth Ellen Drive

A woman was found sleeping in her vehicle in the Dorchester Village parking lot around 3 a.m. April 18.

Upon waking her, officers learned that she had been drinking.

The woman, 36, was arrested for OVI and driving under suspension. She had two previous OVI convictions on her record.

Traffic stop: Chardon Road

A traffic stop was made April 19 on a vehicle with heavy window tint, which was making it difficult to read the temporary tag in the rear window.

The driver was found to be under suspension and had an active traffic warrant with Bedford police.

His vehicle was towed from the scene, and the Cleveland man, 31, was transferred to a central location to meet with Bedford police.

Theft: Richmond Road

A woman reported April 16 that a check was to have been delivered to her postal box at the city’s post office but appeared to have been stolen at some point.

She said it was cashed by an unknown person in March for $4,160.

Postal inspectors and the woman’s bank are investigating.

Theft: Highland Road

A man reported April 15 that he had lost his wallet at Gas and Go. When he returned for it, he could not find it at the pump where he believed he had dropped it.

The wallet was later turned in at the police station and returned to the owner. Nothing was missing from it.

Suspicion: Forsythia Lane

A boy tried to kick in a neighbor’s door April 18 for unknown reasons.

He was later located and his guardian was notified of the incident.

There was no damage to the door.
