A long-established Coventry shop has relocated and a new restaurant opened ahead of the multi-million-pound regeneration project City Centre South. China Mini Market and Ji The Chicken Shop have opened on Smithford Way.

Established in 2004, China Mini Market was based on Market Way but has now relocated to Smithford Way. It stocks a range of Southeast Asian food which has been described as 'high-quality.'

Owner Sue Wong said they specialise in produce from China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. All of the goods are, she says, 'reasonably priced.'

Ms Wong has also launched a brand-new business in the same building called Ji The Chicken Shop. It opened on Thursday, April 18.

Ji The Chicken Shop has already proved popular, having opened a number of thriving branches across the UK. Chinatown in London, Norwich, Cardiff, and Oxford are just a few of the places they have launched, with several hailing them as 'amazing.'

A spokesman for Coventry BID said: “Congratulations to Sue Wong who has relocated her business China Mini Market to Smithford Way from City Centre South. Sue has also launched a new business called Ji The Chicken Shop. Good luck from Coventry BID and please do pop in and visit them.”
