James and Sandra Riese of Kenosha are marking their 60th anniversary with a family celebration this month, to be followed by a family trip to Italy this summer.
James Riese was first introduced to Sandra Singer by a mutual friend. They were married on April 4, 1964, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kenosha. They were both born and raised in Kenosha and have been lifelong residents.
They have four children: Julie & Paul Kresse of Pleasant Prairie; Mary & Michael Roach of Kenosha; Amy & David Zoerner of Pleasant Prairie; and Becky & Michael Clements of Kenosha. They have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Jim spent 31 years in the purchasing field and retired from InSinkErator. He then was a substitute teacher for Kenosha Unified and All Saints schools for 17 years. Last year Jim, as an Army veteran, went on the Honor Flight with his daughter Julie, who served as his guardian for the flight.

Sandy worked as a nurse in a variety of staff and managerial positions for the former St. Catherine’s Hospital, Director of Student Health & Counseling at University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and retired from Aurora Health Care. In retirement, she has worked in the Falls Prevention program for the Kenosha Department of Aging & Disability Services. She serves on the Hospice Alliance, Women & Children’s Horizons, and the Good Action Foundation boards.
Both have been active members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They have gone on mission trips to Africa and the Dominican Republic. Sandy recently worked at the yearly Cancer de Mama Clinic in Mexico. They love to travel together and with friends. They have visited several European countries, Mexico, Russia, China, Turkey, Greece, Egypt and Israel.
