Begaj, support to Malta in humanitarian diplomacy and interreligious dialogue

President of Albania, Bajram Begaj paid an official visit to the Sovereign Order of Malta, invited to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Albania.

He was received in a special ceremony at the Magistrate's Villa by His Venerable Highness, Fra' John Dunlap, Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta.

During the conversation with the Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, President Begaj spoke about the intensification of cooperation with the conviction of starting a new phase, while he assessed the 30-year period of bilateral relations as successful, especially in the humanitarian and health fields.

The Head of State emphasized that the solidarity and humanity of this Order has left its mark in Albania through the implementation of projects in the fields of health, education and social assistance for the needy.

The President of the Republic conveyed a special gratitude for the help from the Sovereign Order of Malta in the recovery of Albania after the devastating earthquake of November 2019, as well as for the contribution of the volunteers of "Malteser Albania", who take care of people in need through medical services , social and humanitarian.

"Albania", said President Begaj, "will always support the commitment of the Order of Malta in the field of humanitarian diplomacy and interreligious dialogue, as only in this way the joint contribution in favor of peace and humanitarian solidarity in the world increases.

The President of the Republic conveyed to the Grand Master of the Order of Malta thanks for the help in Kosovo during the war, inviting him to continue this help in the direction of expanding international recognition of Kosova, as Albanians regard the Sovereign Order of Malta as a friend and their advocates".
