TARC offering fare-free service for Thunder Over Louisville this weekend
Need a lift to and from Thunder Over Louisville this weekend? TARC can give you one, and it won't cost you a penny.
TARC and Humana are partnering on Saturday to offer fare-free service for Thunder.
The partnership is to help get people home as quickly as possible after the big fireworks show.
To help make that possible, TARC is adding 68 additional buses to its routes on Saturday to improve the frequency and meet the demand of increased passengers.
There will be five stops in downtown Louisville for passengers to board multiple bus routes following the show.

Boarding on Market near Floyd Street (Heading eastbound from downtown)
- Route #15 Market Street (to La Grange Road)
- Route #19 Muhammad Ali (to Oxmoor and Lyndon)
- Route #31 Shelbyville Road (to Oxmoor and Middletown)
- Boarding on Liberty, near Floyd
- Route #17 — Bardstown Road (to Fern Creek and Sebree)
- Route #21 Chestnut Street (to Bashford Avenue)
- Route #23 Broadway (to Jeffersontown and Breckenridge Plaza)
- Route #25 Oak-Westport Crosstown (to Westport Road and Worthington)
- Route #40 — Taylorsville Road
Boarding on Main near 9th Street (Heading westbound from downtown)

- Route #18 Dixie Highway (to Valley Station)
- Route #19 Muhammad Ali (to Park Duvall and Rockford Lane)

- Route #43 Portland-Poplar Level (to 32nd & Portland Loop)

- Route #28 Preston (to Okolona — Outer Loop Plaza)
- Route #43 Portland-Poplar Level (to Fern Creek)
As for buses that travel to Indiana (Routes 71, 72, 73, and 74), they will not be making return trips to Indiana after 8 p.m.
TARC officials say there may also be some delays close to the start of the event due to road closures.
