Innovative strategies: Adam and Katie Richards (Photograph supplied)

Attorneys Adam and Katie Richards have launched a new family law firm, Richards Ltd.

Having more than 40 years of combined expertise, the married co-founders said, they aim to change the landscape of family dispute resolution on the island, and are committed to setting the standard for excellence in family law representation.

The firm, located at Crown House on Par-la-Ville Road in Hamilton, said it combines legal expertise with innovative strategies to achieve favourable outcomes for its clients.

“We are dedicated to guiding our clients through the legal process with compassion, expertise, and integrity,” said Mr Richards.

"We recognise that family issues are often emotionally complex and stressful. With our deep understanding of all aspects of divorce and relationship breakdown, we advise clients on their full range of options.

“Where possible, we aim to resolve disputes in a non-contentious manner however, we recognise that this is not always possible, and we will also strongly advocate for our clients in court when needed.”

One option for dispute resolution offered by Richards is the collaborative law process, which encourages and assists parties to reach an agreement without court intervention.

Ms Richards, who is the chairwoman of the Bermuda Collaborative Law Alliance, said: “We work with our clients to map out a clear pathway to success from the first meeting, ensuring that clients and their families achieve their goals.

“We have an exceptional track record of successfully resolving high asset divorce cases involving multi-jurisdictional disputes, complex corporate structures and trusts.

"We bring the same level of expertise and personal service advocating for clients in emotionally complex cases such as custody, child support, and relocation disputes."

The firm said it promises personalised attention for its clients.

Ms Richards added: "Whether you need practical advice, mediation services, or assertive courtroom representation, we have the skill and knowledge to tailor our approach to your unique situation."
