Cheap Glasgow to Iceland flights launched with return tickets starting from £87

Scots can take a wee trip to Iceland without breaking the bank, with the first flights set to start on Friday.

If you have ever fancied a trip to Iceland then you may be in luck as a new flight is available to Scots from today.

Icelandic airline PLAY has launched a new service from Glasgow to Keflavík - the airline's first Scottish route. What's more, the tickets are actually budget friendly with return options starting from just £87.

The low-cast airline's first flight from Glasgow International took off at 11:55am on May 26, marking an exciting new route for potential travellers. The new service will operate four times a week during summer and autumn 2023, with two flights per week during the winter.

If Iceland is not your preferred final destination, the new flight may still be a bonus for you. PLAY currently offers flights to four North American destination -New York Stewart International Airport, Washington Dules International Airport, Boston Logan International Airport, Baltimore Washington International Airport - as well as flying to John C. Munroe Hamilton International Airport in Toronto, Canada from June 23 this year.

The new Glasgow to Keflavík route will provide travellers with a potentially more affordable option to reach these American spots by providing an additional connecting option for those heading to any of these cross Atlantic destinations.

The Glasgow flights will have a two-hour layover in Keflavik, with the option for extension free of charge to passengers if you fancy adding Reykjavík into your travel itinerary.
