A 28-year-old cement truck driver in Antigua died at hospital last evening while receiving treatment for injuries he suffered in an accident.
According to reports, Jakeem Murray was driving a cement truck in the Cedar Valley area on Tuesday when he lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the roadway and crashed.
Murray was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment.
Murray is being remembered by family and friends online as a humble and respectful young man and a loving father to his daughter.
“I don't even know what to say boss, Life is so fragile its not even funny. RIP Jakeem,” a friend wrote.
Another person wrote: “My stomach is in a knot, this feels like when my sons lost their father. No young child deserves to lose their dad. I still can’t even process this. Jakeem Murray was someone I saw almost every day going to and from work because I was raised right on that same road where he works. This is so painful.”
