6ix9ine is half Puerto Rican, half Mexican – but if you ask him, he’s only claiming his mother’s Mexican side because of his father’s absence.

The New York rapper was stopped for a quick conversation amid his drunken state at the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals game between Mexico and Puerto Rico on Friday (March 17). Despite his mixed heritage, 6ix9ine was only waving the Mexican flag, and explained why when asked on camera.

“My dad abandoned me,” he said about the choice of flag. [He’s] Puerto Rican!”

When asked where his dad is now, he replied: “I don’t care. I don’t care. My mom raised me Mexican…. My mom raised me Mexican, an immigrant. I love my mom with all my heart. She played the role of mother and father for me.”

Later at the event, he wound up getting into an altercation with a fan. While waving his Mexican flag toward the crowd, a number of fans stood up and flipped him off. From there, an unknown man launched a beer can in his direction.

After he was nearly struck by the can, 6ix9ine continued to wave the flag before an unknown man approached him which prompted him to stop. According to Marca, he was relocated by park officials after the incident took place.

Baseball Journalist Aram Leighton caught footage of the incident and said it took place because of people’s disdain for the 26-year-old rapper.

The incident comes just weeks after 6ix9ine crashed his Rolls-Royce Phantom in an unknown location.

A clip showed the rapper on the phone looking for a possible ride out from the frightening situation while surrounded by road assistance for his orange luxury sports car.

“Yo, baby, pull up on me real quick — I just crashed,” he can be heard saying to someone on the phone. “N-gga, I’ma send you my location. Damn, n-gga.”

Earlier the same month, the “GUMMO” rapper was involved in an alleged altercation with rapper Anuel AA’s brother.

A video was shared by Akademiks on Instagram, but little was known about what sparked the heated confrontation between 6ix9ine and the other individuals in the clip.

While neither party has responded to the video, Anuel AA took some serious heat in 2020 after continuing to maintain a friendship with the Brooklyn rapper after he cooperated with federal authorities earlier that year.
