Early completion of CBD project urged

Development authority CEO seeks to complete project by Feb

Central Business District (CBD) Punjab Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin has called for completion of the CBD Punjab Boulevard and Kalma Chowk underpass remodeling project by February so that the residents of Lahore can get relief from the temporary problems they are facing due to the constructions work.

The Punjab CBD Development Authority (PCBDDA) has started the construction that is estimated to cost Rs4.2 billion. Out of the total 2,000 retaining piles, 1,200 have been completed in a short period.

According to CBD Punjab Executive Director Technical Riaz Hussain, “The authority has allocated a budget of about Rs11 billion for the development work. Along with the completion of retaining piles for the underpass remodeling project, the construction of a parking plaza at the project site is also under way in full swing. The pouring of the parking plaza roof has been completed with almost 430 cubic metres of concrete. We have expedited the construction work to the maximum.”
