Spencer Petras to miss Music City Bowl

Spencer Petras to miss Music City Bowl
ON NEW YEAR’S EVE. NOW, IF YOU MISSED THE TOP OF THE SHOW, WE SHARED THE NEWS, BUT WE WILL SHARE IT AGAIN. IOWA IS GOING BOWLING. WE KNEW THAT. BUT NOW WE KNOW. FINE ONLY THE DESTINATION. NASHVILLE ON NEW YEAR’S EVE. LET’S GO, BABY. IT WILL BE A REMATCH OF THE 2022 CITRUS BOWL FOR THE HAWKEYES AS THEY’RE SLATED TO PLAY THE KENTUCKY WILDCATS FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT TIME IN A BOWL GAME. IT’S FUNNY, THEY STARTED THE 2022 CALENDAR PLAYING KENTUCKY. THEY’LL END THE 22, 20, 22 CALENDAR, PLAYING KENTUCKY, 75 TEAMS 11 A.M. CENTRAL STANDARD KICKOFF. YOU’RE GOING TO BE ABLE TO WATCH IT ON ABC. A FUN REMATCH. BUT KIRK FERENTZ TODAY DID DROP SOME BIG NEWS REGARDING THE QUARTERBACKS SITUATION. ON A NOTABLE FRONT, UNFORTUNATELY, SPENCER PETERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY IN THE GAME. THE INJURY HE HAD IN THE NEBRASKA BALL GAME WAS SIGNIFICANT. SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO REQUIRE SURGERY. SO HE’S NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO COMPETE. NOBODY’S MORE DISAPPOINTED THAN HIM, OBVIOUSLY, LIKE ANY PLAYER THAT HAS A INJURY THAT REQUIRES SURGERY, IT JUST TAKES THEM OUT. COMPETITION AND, YOU KNOW, IT’S KIND OF GOOD THAT HE’LL BE WITH US. BUT, YOU KNOW, ALL OF US, WHEN SHE WASN’T ON THE SIDELINE SUPPORTING THE TEAM, BUT THAT IS THE ONE THING I HAVE TO REPORT RIGHT NOW. YEAH. SO THIS CREATES A REALLY INTERESTING SCENARIO NOW FOR THE HAWKEYES, BECAUSE IF YOU REMEMBER, ALEX PADILLA, IS ENTERING THE TRANSFER PORTAL, HE WILL NOT PLAY. AND KIRK FERENTZ CONFIRMED THIS IN THE PRESS CONFERENCE. THE QUARTERBACK FOR THE HAWKEYES WILL EITHER BE JOE LEVIS OR CARSON MAY. MAY IS A TRUE FRESHMAN. DAVIS IS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN. NEITHER OF THEM HAVE SEEN ANY GAME ACTION IN THEIR CAREERS.
