Auburn’s trip to West Virginia for the Big 12/SEC Challenge will get started before lunch on Jan. 28, 2023.

The SEC announced tipoff times and network designations for all 10 games in the annual interconference showcase, with Auburn’s matchup at West Virginia set for an 11 a.m. CT tip. The game will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.

The showdown in Morgantown, W. Va., will mark the first game of that weekend’s showcase between the two conferences, with the 10 matchups spread across five time slots on the final Saturday of January. The Big 12/SEC Challenge is in its 10th year overall and its eighth in the current single-day format.

For Auburn, the matchup will mark the program’s second-ever trip to West Virginia and its first since Dec. 29, 1984. The Tigers won in their only prior visit to Morgantown, which came in the programs’ first-ever meeting on the hardwood.

Auburn and West Virginia have not faced off in basketball since 2007, when they met in the Big East/SEC Invitational in Birmingham, when the Mountaineers were still in that conference. Auburn lost that game, 88-59. The programs’ two other meetings came during the 1985-86 season, when they played twice -- first to open the season in the preseason NIT in Hartford, Conn., and then again in Auburn 11 days later. The teams split those two meetings, and the all-time series stands at 2-2 ahead of this season’s matchup.
