FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas pitchers Hagen Smith and Brady Tygart did not make the travel roster for the USA Collegiate National Team's baseball trip to the Netherlands.
The pitchers, who were Freshman All-Americans for the Razorbacks during the 2022 season, were among at least 48 players who tried out for Team USA in North Carolina. Only 26 made the travel squad for the international trip.
During intrasquad scrimmages in North Carolina, Tygart pitched 1 scoreless inning, allowed 2 walks and struck out 2 batters, and Smith pitched 2 scoreless innings that included 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.
An Arkansas team spokesman said neither pitcher is expected to throw again competitively this summer for rest purposes. Both had been invited to the prestigious Cape Cod League in Massachusetts.
