BRUNSWICK, Ohio -- The Brunswick City School District is facing a 14-month window in which to raise approximately $67 million in local funds to construct a new high school building and take advantage of a 39 percent match from the State of Ohio.

During an update on the district’s Master Facilities Plan at the June 21 Brunswick Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Jason Niedermeyer said a recent enrollment study and facilities assessment by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), following completion of the new Brunswick Middle School building, recommended both the construction of a new high school and combining the district’s elementary buildings into a single “mega elementary” with a 1,200- to 1,500-student enrollment.
