Pittsburghers are paying more than $1.50 per gallon more for gas compared to this time last year.
On Thursday morning, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded was $4.69, up $1.51 per gallon from the same time last year.
The national average was $4.60, up $1.57 per gallon year-to-year.
And in Pennsylvania, the average was $4.76, up $1.60 per gallon year-to-year.
Earlier this week, AAA said the Russian invasion of Ukraine had a major effect on recent price increases at the gas pump, with the invasion sending shockwaves through the oil market.
They also said seasonal gas demand is rising despite the higher prices.
