The seven-day average of positive COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin continued to decline over the last week. On Wednesday, the figure was 1.1%. The seven-day average of positive cases measures the average number of new cases per day over the previous week. An overall decrease in the seven-day average of positive cases indicates the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the state is also going down, according to DHS.

The number of negative tests in the state was 2,965,781 Wednesday, an increase of 6,515 since June 8.

An additional 50 people have been hospitalized because of the virus, bringing the total to 33,312.

Wednesday's update also showed that 98% of the people who have tested positive for the virus have recovered. That means 1%, or 2,838 cases, are currently active.

DHS also reports that 5,395,172 doses of vaccine have been administered. A total of 2,866,668 Wisconsin residents, or 49.2% of the population, have received at least one dose of vaccine, and 2,598,220 people have completed the vaccine series.
