Jennifer Garner to travel to West Virginia with Jill Biden
First lady Jill Biden will travel to West Virginia on Thursday with actress Jennifer Garner to visit schools in the area.
The White House said in an advisory that Biden and Garner would be touring Arnoldsburg Elementary School as well as a vaccination site at Capital High School in Charleston.
Garner, who grew up in Charleston, was originally meant to visit Alabama with Biden to promote the American Rescue Plan, but was unable to make the trip due to bad weather.
Biden and Garner have previously worked together through their shared work as board members for the Save the Children aid organization. Biden was appointed as chair of the board of trustees for Save the Children in 2017 and Garner has been a trustee since 2014.
The actress was also a prominent supporter of the Biden-Harris campaign, hosting an Instagram Live conversation with the first lady in October.
During their conversation, Garner said she was “proud” to know Biden and supported the campaign’s efforts to make sure “kids come first.”
“I’ve seen you leading meetings talking about really actionable smart ways to help kids in the United States and around the world and know how important just how vital that is to who you are,” Garner said during their conversation.
“We’ve had this relationship for years and years, and I know your passions and I hope you know my passions, and that we’ll continue to work together after Joe becomes president on Nov. 3,” Biden said.
