NEBRASKA STATE PATROL BELIEVES A GAGE COUNTY MAN KILLED A WOMAN WHO FILED A PROTECTION ORDER AGAINST HIM. AND THEY SAY HE CLAIMED HIS OWN LIFE TROOPERS FOUND 49 YEAR OLD JASON ARNOLD AND 40 YEAR OLD BROOKE COOK DEAD AT A HOME NEAR BLUE SPRINGS TUESDAY TROOPERS SAY ARNOLD HAD FAILED TO APPEAR IN COURT EARLIER THAT DAY FOR VIOLATING THE PROTECTION ORDER.

A Nebraska woman killed in a murder-suicide is being remembered as a loving mother.According to Nebraska State Patrol, Gage County officials were called to the 600 block of East Oak Road, just outside of Blue Springs. Inside the home, investigators found the bodies of Jason Arnold, 49, of Blue Springs, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators also found the body of Brooke Koch, 40, of Blue Springs.According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the same morning, Arnold failed to appear in Gage County Court for violation of a protection order, prohibiting him from contact with Koch.In a GoFundMe page, family members write Koch was "a devoted mother, loving sister, dedicated daughter, cherished aunt, awesome photographer, avid runner and loyal friend, was tragically taken away from this world too soon."According to her obituary, she was active in coaching softball for many years and enjoyed running, her farm animals, landscaping, gardening, fishing, traveling, being outdoors, photography and especially attending her girls’ events and activities.One of Koch's three daughter's Andie, wrote about her mother: “Nobody will ever replace your spot in my heart, mom. This will be the hardest thing to overcome in my life. You had such a beautiful, kind soul that everyone adored. You were such a strong, positive, get-shit-done, AMAZING mother that I strive to be at least half of. You touched so many people’s lives in such a loving way. You didn’t deserve any negative thing that ever came into your life," she wrote, in part.Koch's sisters also wrote memorials seen on the page.The page indicates the GoFundMe money will be used for Koch's funeral and to help her daughters. More than $14,000 has been raised so far.
