The allied nature of the Armenian-Russian interstate relations already presupposes constant and continuous work in terms of their further strengthening and bringing them in line with modern realities, conditioned by both time and regional and global developments. Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"We intend to carry out this work in a coordinated manner, based on the need to ensure the key interests of the peoples of our countries. Naturally, the solid foundation of this work has been and will continue to be the friendship of our peoples. It is obvious that the relevant developments in the Armenian-Russian relations will not apply to a separate sphere of cooperation; they will also have an impact on other spheres which are fully included in our allied cooperation agenda.

We intend to carry out this work within the framework of interstate cooperation mechanisms. It is about the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, the interparliamentary dialogue, work will be done within the framework of the big commission and relevant sectoral committees; it is also work within the framework of the military-technical commission and other formats. Naturally, all this will be done through the active coordination of the foreign ministries of our countries.

I would like to emphasize in particular the importance of the intensive dialogue at the level of the diplomatic services of Armenia and Russia, which we intend to further develop," the Armenian Foreign Minister added.
