According to Warner media, the company will discontinue HBO and WB TV channels in India and Pakistan. Also, the channels will not premiere in selected other South Asian markets.
The south Asian markets include the residents from India, Pakistan, Maldives, and Bangladesh.
Along with this, the cartoon channels of WarnerBros will not discontinue. It means Cartoon Network and Pogo will keep running in South Asia.
In addition to that, the information given by WarnerBros tells that the channel will discontinue from December 15.
If some users want to watch the HBO TV channel in these regions, they can watch it on an online streaming platform.
What is HBO?
HBO stands for Home Box Office, which is owned by WarnerMedia studios & Network. WarnerMedia is an American multinational mass media and entertainment corporation. The headquarter of WarnerMedia is in New York City, United States.
On November 8, 1972, the channel was first aired. HBO is available on all U.S. cable systems and is one of the oldest channels. Also, viewers can stream this channel on different streaming media platforms.

Reason of discontinuation
According to the company, they will end HBO and WB TV channels in the countries mentioned above. Those countries are the market where cable TV subscriptions are about 4 USD to 5 USD per month.
For example, in India, it costs less than 25 cents to subscribe to both the channels in HD. After all of these, the monthly cable plan for both the channels is about 2 USD. This can be a reason to discontinue HBO and WB channel in India.
According to the BARC, the viewership of both the channels in India is very tinny. Time’s movies Now, Star movies, and Sony Pix had a large viewership than HBO in India last month. BARC stands for Broadcast Audience Research Council; it is an Indian rating agency.
In conclusion, the Warner Bros movie channel will be discontinued in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Maldives.
The telecast of the channel will conclude after December 15. Along with this, Indian users can watch HBO on Disney+ Hotstar.
