The Estonian government will allocate EUR 100,000 from its reserve fund to the International Committee of the Red Cross in order to mitigate the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Politika portal reports.

“The situation on both sides of the frontline in Nagorno-Karabakh is on the brink of a humanitarian crisis, and so, we can’t simply watch this. I have offered the government to allocate EUR 100,000 to mitigate the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, and the government has expressed has provided its support,” Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu said.

“Estonia calls on the sides to stop the hostilities and resolve the conflict peacefully,” the minister said. According to him, third parties must not interfere in the conflict. Reinsalu mentioned that Estonia supports the negotiations process under the auspices of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and, if necessary, it is ready to raise the Nagorno-Karabakh issue in the United Nations Security Council.
