23 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the past 24-hours, and 4 new recoveries, the health authorities have said.

Reporting on social media, it said that today’s new cases include 2 cases linked to the Paceville cluster, and 1 is an imported case, while the remaining 20 are “being contacted by the contact tracing team.”

The authorities are recommending that the public avoid all crowded areas.

There are now 415 active cases, with 1,112 cases in total. 688 have recovered and there have been 9 deaths.

1,618 swab tests were taken over the past 24-hours, with 143,385 swabs taken since the start.

Public Health Authorities said that anyone who needs to take a test should call 111 to set an appointment, even if they do not have any symptoms. It is to be noted that due to the large volume of calls, it can take some time to get through.

All 3 swabbing centres are open every day, including the one in Gozo, however appointments must be made.
