Record 54 new Covid-19 cases reported today, including 1-year old childThere have been 54 new Covid-19 cases reported in the past 24-hours, this is the highest number in one day since the first case was recorded on the 7th of March.

The youngest case from today is a 1-year old, while the eldest is a 75-year old.

The Health Authorities, reporting on social media, said that today’s new cases include 3 tracing back to language schools, 12 cases linked to the Paceville cluster, 9 family members of previously known cases, while no details were provided on the remaining 30. There were 9 new recoveries.

The authorities are recommending that the public avoid all crowded areas.

There are now 396 active cases, with 1,089 cases in total. 684 have recovered and there have been 9 deaths.

1,789 swab tests were taken over the past 24-hours, with 141,767 swabs taken since the start.

Public Health Authorities said that anyone who needs to take a test should call 111 to set an appointment, even if they do not have any symptoms. It is to be noted that due to the large volume of calls, it can take some time to get through.

All 3 swabbing centres are open every day, including the one in Gozo, however appointments must be made.
