RYAN: THAT’S CHAD COVOL ARRIVING ON HIS BIKE AT PITTSBURGH’S POINT STATE PARK. ALL THE WAY FROM ATLANTA. COVOL IS A PITTSBURGH NATIVE. HE LIVES IN GEORGIA NOW. HE STARTED HIS JOURNEY BACK ON JUNE 11. AND TELLS US, NOW WAS AS GOOD A TIME AS EVER TO DO IT. >> JUST KIND OF A CRAZY IDEA, WITH THE PANDEMIC AND EVERYTHI HAPPENING. I GOT LAID OFF FROM MY JOB ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO AND DECIDED INSTEAD OF SITTING AROUND AND BEING BORED, DECIDED BY BUY A BIKE AND PLAN THIS TRIP AND MAKE MY WAY UP HERE TO VISIT FAMI AND FRIENDS. RYAN YOU HAVE TO ADMIRE THAT MOTIVATION. THE ENTIRE TRIP TOOK 24 DAYS. COVOL WOULD TRAVEL ABOUT 130 MILES A DAY. IN THAT TIME, HE TOOK FOUR DAYS OFF TO REST. A Pittsburgh native arrived at Point State Park, July 4 after biking all the way from Atlanta.Chad Covol was inspired to take his trip after he had lost his job due to the pandemic and wanted to spread joy and encouragement to others. Covol, now living in Georgia, started on June 11, and during that his 24 day trip averaged about 130 miles per day with only four days off to rest.
