Are those trails public? Never seen them and they look awesome, especially the steep part with the drop from the stone. I'm from Liege region but haven't seen them
@ClaudeCarpaij: are there many trails near Namur/Dinante? I camped around there a coupe of times and I know there's good rock climbing but how's the MTB seen that way? looks like there'd be potential in them hills!
@laurent: Yesss!! Awesome rider too. Not to mention the tons of underground BMX and MTB kids out there. I’ve seen some rippers over the years in Belgium. Kristof Lenssens is another perfect example.
Well as a native, I can tell you that these great moments will just last for few minutes only. Unfortunately, those tracks are quite short, it is like a quickie behind a burger king. Anyway, nice vid Claude, we just have to be super careful with the safety as I "almost died" from a decapitation due to a barbwire trap a while ago (la Roche aux faucons, drève St Anne)...
Most of our trails are hiking trails where in some places people have made some mtb specific features. In theory singletrack is only accessible for hikers except where the local authorities have given the authorisation (almost nowhere). In practice there are only a limited amount of cases where authorities have taken action.
@oli4m: yeah I remember when they changed the "legislation" back in 1997, basically banning any biker from singletracks. But no one give a damn and ride them anyway. When you cross hikers, you just slow down, or step down.
