Ryanair said it will start operating almost 1,000 flights a day from July 1 and will put a number of health measures in place, including the requirement for all passengers to wear face masks.

The budget airline will resume flights from airports in the UK including Liverpool and Manchester.

Tourists will be able to travel to the likes of Spain, Greece, Portugal and Germany, according to Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary.

This is despite the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advising against all but essential international travel since March 17.

On June 8, a 14-day quarantine for international arrivals is due to begin in the UK.

But from July 1 the budget airline insists it will return to 40% of its normal schedule, reports the Mirror.

Which UK airports will Ryanair be flying from?

From 1 July Ryanair will be operating flights out of 19 UK airports:

Some of these airports will only have one or two routes.

Which countries will Ryanair be flying to?

Ryanair will be operating both domestic and international flights from July 1.

The majority of its international flights will be going to countries in Europe.

In Spain it will be offering flights to Seville, Valencia, Tenerife, Zaragoza, Jerez, Malaga, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Madrid, Fuerteventura, Murcia, Gran Canaria, Santander and Menorca.

In France Toulouse, Perpignan, Bergerac, Limoges, Beziers, Nantes and Marseille.

Flights to Italy will be going to Verona, Venice, Turin, Trieste, Lamezia, Milan, Naples, Palermo and Pisa.

Tourists can fly to Terceira Lajes, Porto, Faro or Lisbon in Portugal .

In Greece , Ryanair will be flying to Corfu, Chania, Rhodes and Thessaloniki.

Flights to Germany will be going to Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Memmingen and Karlsruhe.

While flights to Ireland will go to Dublin, Cork, Knock, and Shannon.

In Poland Ryanair will be flying to Warsaw, Szczecin, Wroclaw, Olsztyn-Mazury, Rzeszow, Krakow, Gdansk, Katowice, Bydgoszcz, Poznan and Lodz.

Holidaymakers can fly to Vilnius or Kaunas in Lithuania , and Stockholm or Goteborg Landvetter in Sweden .

Ryanair will also be flying to Luxemborg , Oslo in Norway , Tallinn in Estonia , Bucharest in Romania , Sofia in Bulgaria , Budapest in Hungary , Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Prague in the Czech Republic .

It will be flying to Malta , Salzburg in Austria , Podgorica in Montenegro , Marrakesh in Morocco , Bratislava in Slovakia , Riga in Latvia and Paphos in Cyprus .

What are Ryanair's social distancing rules?

All passengers and cabin crew will be required to wear face masks while on the plane and in the terminal buildings.

Passengers are being urged to check in online, and take their temperature at home before setting off. There may also be temperature checks at the airports.

Passengers will be asked to scan their own boarding pass at the gate to limit contact with airline staff.

Only wrapped snacks and drinks will be served on board, and queueing for the toilets will not be allowed. The seatbelt signs will remain on for the entire flight.

Planes are being disinfected on a daily basis, and are fitted with filtration systems.

Can I go on holiday?

At the moment the FCO advises Brits against all but essential foreign travel, which means that your travel insurance will not be valid if you choose to go on holiday.
