An MMA athlete has been booted from Survivor over a brutal headbutt delivered to the face of a fellow contestant.

Ana Maria Pal had just lost a challenge during the Romanian edition of the popular show when tensions seriously boiled over.

Appearing agitated over the loss and some sledging from Andrei Ciobanul, the 26-year-old floored him with her head, the violent blow sending him down clutching his face.

Fellow Romanian fighter Diana Belbita, who previously appeared on Survivor, condemned the violence.
