Former Vice President Joe Biden was back in New Hampshire on Friday.The Democratic presidential candidate hosted a health care town hall in the afternoon at Dartmouth College in Hanover. Biden took questions from voters on a number of issues, but he spent the majority of his time talking about why he believes the Affordable Care Act must be protected. While Republicans and some Democrats want to scrap Obamacare, he said his plan would build upon it.>> Download the FREE WMUR app "There's a lot of people running in our party," Biden said. "They're good people who want to get rid of Obamacare and start over again with something new. I'm not for that. My health care plan lays out in detail how we can protect and build on Obamacare and make sure that every American has an affordable, quality health care option while at the lowest possible health care costs."Biden also took a shot at President Donald Trump's comments to reporters earlier this week when the president referred to himself as the "chosen one."And at one point, Biden talked about how the assassinations of two of his heroes, Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., sparked his personal interest in politics. "Unless I'm mistaken, Donald did for your generation what the loss of two of my heroes did for my mine," Biden said. "Here's what they did: What they did was make you realize, 'My God, we're in trouble.'""Imagine what would've happened if, God forbid, Barack Obama had been assassinated after becoming the de facto nominee. What would've happened in America?" Biden added.Voters who spoke with WMUR left wanting to hear from more candidates but pleased with Biden and his passion for topics like climate change, education and access to mental health care."Ultimately, he always seems a little bit bumbly, but I think that's part of the charm in many ways, and I think that you can't beat him interacting one on one. He makes you feel wanted. He makes you feel like part of something," said Dartmouth student Tom Knight. Biden had an invitation-only community event Friday night in Croydon and will hold another community event at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Keene State College.
